Campaign for Justice and Territory
In recent days the autonomous indigenous Wixaritari and Tepehuano community of San Lorenzo Azqueltán has called on the peoples of the world: to demand the arrest and immediate prosecution of Fabio Flores Sánchez, alias La Polla and his violent group for the crimes of land theft/invasion and the attempted murder of indigenous authorities community.
This violent group opposes the campaign for Justice and Territory initiated by Azqueltán to protect their communal lands and practice self-government, and autonomous ways of life. Their lethal attacks have brought several indigenous community members to the brink of death.
From the United States, the Sexta Grietas del Norte network declares its solidarity with Azqueltán. We demand an immediate stop to assaults against the community, respect for their territory and their autonomy, and the arrest of the violent group that ravages life in Azqueltán.
