We will celebrate the 19th anniversary of the founding of the Zapatista Caracoles Good Government Councils (Juntas de buen gobierno) and their extraordinary anti-capitalist, anti-patriarchal and anti-colonial resistance. We will also consider the growing and multidimensional violence of military forces, paramilitary groups and criminal gangs that together are tearing apart the peoples of Chiapas. Violence that accompanies and paves the way for the criminalization of migrant peoples and the penetration of destructive business projects and megaprojects under the false banner of progress and well-being.
